The English Gardens

Inspired by the great gardens of Europe, Glenstone’s English Gardens are truly one of a kind. Enter through centuries-old iron gates to discover a lily pool and fountain, brick and flagstone paths and a walkway framed by an antique rose-covered cedar pergola. Twin viewing platforms offer a birds-eye perspective of the interconnected garden rooms, while bronze sculptures, tucked-away benches and storybook vistas create an ideal setting for bespoke gatherings.

The Eastern Garden

Serene and expansive, The Eastern Garden draws inspiration from the tranquil spirit of the East. Flanked by two unique structures—The Ting, evoking balance and reflection, and The Moon Gate, a circular passage believed to bring good fortune.

The Spring House & Tulip Poplar

Over four hundred years old, two hundred and fifty feet tall, and thirty feet in circumference, Glenstone’s awe-inspiring Tulip Poplar is one of the oldest and largest trees in Virginia. The lawn leading to it is flanked by towering boxwood hedges on either side.

The Meadow Hill

The Meadow Hill offers a sprawling natural backdrop for grand outdoor ceremonies and wedding portraits, where golden light and sweeping landscapes create an unforgettable setting.

The North Lawn

Adjacent to the Guest House, The North Lawn is a blank canvas that offers an expansive manicured lawn for you to build your dinner and reception tents.

The Secret Garden

Enclosed by boxwood hedges, with an entrance hidden from view, this tucked away space awaits a visitor, longing to be found.

The Tea House

An antique climbing rose arbor and black slate pathway lead to The Tea House, an Asian-inspired garden structure with seating for four.

The south LAWN

Located off of The Farmhouse Terrace, the sprawling South Lawn features lush plantings and offers a reflective view over the Pond.

The Cutting Border

The sixty-foot Cutting Border offers a seasonal floral spectacle, with vibrant colors and textures that shift from spring through fall.
